Vegan Buns

Delicious Easter buns with jam, candied fruit, raisins and orange zest. Recipe for 15 pieces.


Ingredients:


1 tsp flax seed 300 ml vegetable milk (your choice) 50g vegan margarine 500 grams of bread flour 1 tsp salt 75 g of powdered sugar Sunflower oil 7 g fast-acting baker's yeast 75 g raisins 50 g candied fruit Orange peel 1 1 apple, peeled and finely chopped 1 tbsp. l cinnamon 75 g of plain wheat flour 3 tbsp. l apricot jam

Recipe:


1. Mix 1 tbsp. l ground flax seed with 3 tbsp. l warm water. Beat well and leave for 15 minutes.


2. Bring vegetable milk to the boil, then add vegan margarine. Allow it to cool so that you are not hot. Put bread flour, salt, sugar and yeast in a bowl. Make a well in the center. Pour in the warm milk mixture, then add the flaxseed mixture. Mix well with a spoon, then knead the dough with your hands.

3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes. To make the dough look smooth and elastic, place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with greased food wrap or a clean towel. Leave it in a warm place for about an hour or until it doubles in size. 4. Mix the raisins, candied fruits, orange zest, apple and cinnamon. Add fruit to the dough. Cover again and let stand for another hour.

5. Divide the dough into 15 pieces and roll each into a ball. Spread the buns on a baking sheet with baking paper, leaving space between them so that they can expand. Cover and let them stand for another hour.

6. Heat the oven to 200 °. Mix the usual flour with 5 tablespoons of water and mix with the dough. Pinch the pieces of this dough and roll out into long strips. Stick them on cross-shaped buns. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes or until they turn golden brown on top. 7. Heat the jam until it melts. Take the buns out of the oven and brush with hot jam on top to make the icing. Cool and serve.
