Tomato soup with garlic and aromatic herbs

Tomato soup with basil - a real classic of the genre. This soup is very fragrant, full-bodied and has a delicate texture. Optionally, you can make it spicy by adding a few drops of Tabasco or chili pepper.


Ingredients:


½ l water 1 kg of tomatoes in their own juice 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 large onion 4-5 cloves of garlic Seasoning "Italian herbs" to taste Salt, pepper to taste 1 bunch fresh basil Cream, croutons, soft cheese - optional


Recipe: Heat the oil in a large saucepan and add the chopped onion. Fry for 3-4 minutes until translucent, add chopped garlic and fry for another couple of minutes. In a blender, chop the tomatoes. Add the resulting puree to the fry and add water. Bring soup to a boil, reduce heat to medium. Add salt, pepper, herbs and finely chopped basil. Flavor the soup with an immersion blender and leave for another couple of minutes on the stove. Serve the soup with fresh basil, croutons and cream or cheese.
