Sea buckthorn tea with orange + recipe for tea

This sea buckthorn tea is unique in that it is based on not just sea buckthorn berries, but sea buckthorn puree, which can even be frozen and used as needed. You can make a classic sea buckthorn tea with honey and cinnamon, with cranberries and cloves, but we share the recipe for tea with citrus notes.

Ingredients:

300 g sea buckthorn (fresh or frozen) 2 leaves of fresh mint 1 orange 2-3 cloves Sugar, honey or syrup to taste

Recipe:

Rinse the sea buckthorn. If you use frozen berries, pour boiling water over them and leave them in water for 10 minutes, then drain and slightly dry the berries. Pour the sea buckthorn into a blender and grind to puree. Rub the resulting gruel through a sieve to get rid of the bones. For one cup of drink you will need no more than 3 tbsp. puree, so the remaining mixture can either be stored in the refrigerator for several days, or freeze for a longer period.

Remove from the orange zest without a white layer (otherwise it will taste bitter). Chop the zest with a knife. From the remaining pulp squeeze the juice. Brewing tea occurs right in the cup, although you can do it in a kettle. In a cup, put 2-3 tablespoons. Sea buckthorn puree, 3-4 tbsp. orange juice, 1 tbsp. zest, a few mint leaves and sweetener. Top up with hot water and leave the mixture under the lid for 10 minutes.
